Point of interest

Portmeirion - Portmeirion is a tourist village in Gwynedd, North Wales. It was designed and built by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis between 1925 and 1975 in the style of an Italian village, and is now owned by a charitable trust. (www.portmeirion-village.com)

Snowdon - The many route's to the summit of mount Snowdon can be reached from Beddgelert, The closest being approximately 2.5 Miles and can be reached by walking along the river or driving. Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales, at an elevation of 1,085 metres above sea level, and the highest point in the British Isles outside the Scottish Highlands.

The Grave of Gelert - A short walk south of the village, following the footpath along the banks of the Glaslyn leads to Beddgelert's most famous historical feature; 'Gelert's Grave'.
According to legend, the stone monument in the field marks the resting place of 'Gelert', the faithful hound of the medieval Welsh Prince Llewelyn the Great.

Black Rock Sands - Fabulous huge flat beach.

Snowdon Mountain Railway - The Snowdon Mountain Railway is a narrow gauge rack and pinion mountain railway in Gwynedd, north-west Wales. It is a tourist railway that travels for 4.7 miles from Llanberis to the summit of Snowdon, the highest peak in Wales. (www.snowdonrailway.co.uk)

Zip World - Zip World won international acclaim when it opened Zip World Velocity at Bethesda in March 2013. It includes a pair of zip lines a mile long, where riders can exceed 100mph, 500ft high and experience the nearest thing to flying.
Zip World Titan  of Blaenau Ffestiniog is the first 4 person zip line in Europe and the combination of Velocity and Titan makes North Wales the zip line capital of the world. Bounce Below and Zip World Caverns, are incredible underground adventures. (www.zipworld.co.uk)

Sygun Copper Mine - self-guided audiovisual tours allow you to explore the old workings on foot, in complete safety. There are winding tunnels and large, colourful chambers, magnificent stalactite and stalagmite formations and copper ore veins which contain traces of gold, silver and other precious metals.

Welsh Highland Railway - The Welsh Highland Railway (WHR) or Rheilffordd Eryri is a 25-mile (40.2 km) long, restored 1 ft 11 1/2 in (597 mm) narrow gauge heritage railway in the Welsh county of Gwynedd, operating from Caernarfon to Porthmadog, and passing through a number of popular tourist destinations including Beddgelert and the Aberglaslyn Pass.
